Galina Savenko

Galina Savenko was born in Barnaul, Altai Krai, on March 28, 1966. She attended and graduated from the physics and mathematics school number 42 in Barnaul in 1983. In the same year, she enrolled in the Kuibyshev Aviation Institute named after Korolev, now known as the Samara State Aerospace University named after Korolev. She graduated in 1994, specializing in "Engineer of Mechanics of Aircraft."
Sports Career
SwimmingFrom 1972 to 1981, Savenko actively pursued swimming at the "Amphibian" pool of the Children's Sports School. In 1981, she achieved the standard of "Candidate Master of Sports."
Canoeing
In 1984, Savenko began canoeing under the guidance of Valery Semenovich Peisakhovich, a renowned coach in Russia. As a master of sports in international class, she became a multiple medalist in canoeing competitions within the USSR and Russia.
Olympic Games
Savenko participated in two Olympic Games: the XXIV Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, in 1988, and the XXV Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, in 1992.
Coaching
Savenko currently holds the status of a higher category coach at the "School of Higher Sports Mastery No. 1" in the Samara region.
Dragon Boat Titles
From 2005 to 2010, Savenko achieved remarkable success in dragon boat racing. She emerged as a six-time champion of the World Games for Non-Olympic Sports in 2005 and 2009, a seven-time World Champion, an eight-time European Champion, and a multiple Russian Champion.
