Early Life and Education
Ganira Pashayeva was born on March 24, 1975, in the village of Duz Gyrygly in the Tovuz region of Azerbaijan. She is the niece of the renowned Azerbaijani writer, Qazanfar Pashayev. Pashayeva holds two higher education degrees: a medical degree from the Azerbaijan State Medical University and a law degree from the Baku State University. She is proficient in both Russian and English.
Journalism Career
Pashayeva began her journalism career in 1998 as a reporter and editor at ANS TV. She rose through the ranks over the years, holding positions such as editor-in-chief, chief editor, and deputy editor-in-chief. In 2005, she became head of the Public Relations Department of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Political Involvement
National Assembly of Azerbaijan (Milli Mejlis)Pashayeva entered politics in 2005 when she was elected as a member of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan for the third convocation. She was re-elected for the fourth convocation in 2010. She is a member of the Milli Mejlis's Standing Committee on International Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Ties.
Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE)
Pashayeva has been an active member of Azerbaijan's delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe since 2006. She is a member of the "European Democrats Group" and a full member of the Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination as well as the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons.
Public and Social Activities
Pashayeva is the chairperson of the Public Association "Institute of International Studies of Eurasia." She has also been actively involved in social work, including providing medical assistance to young people in Somalia in 2012.
Literary Career
Pashayeva is an accomplished writer. Her works include:- "Buyuk insan ki dunya kaybetti" ("The Great Man Who the World Lost") about Mustafa Kemal Ataturk (2010)
- "Onun sevgi mektublari" ("Her Love Letters") about a young woman's unrequited love (2011)
- "Dunyanin degisen alimleri" ("Scientists Who Changed the World") about 50 renowned scientists (2013)
- "Tarixe adini yazan qadinlar" ("Women Who Made Their Mark in History") (2011)
Recognition and Awards
Awards:- Order of Honor from the President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili (2011)
- "Most Active Deputy" and "Most Active Defender of Voters' Rights" awards from the Public Association of Parliamentary Journalists of Azerbaijan (2007)
- "Servants of the Turkic Nation" award from the Public Association "New Generation of Azerbaijani Youth" (2010)
- "2010 – Zeki Velidi Togan" award from the Eurasian Economic Relations Club of Turkey (2010)
- "Best of the Years" award in politics from the European Newspaper Journalists' Union (2011)
- "Khazri" national award from the Public Association "Young Reformers" (2011)

Filmmaking
In 2011, Pashayeva produced a film that aimed to refute the claim of an Armenian genocide perpetrated by Turks at the beginning of the 20th century.
