Early Life and Career

Gela Babluani was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1979. At the age of 17, he immigrated to France and began his cinematic journey. In 2005, he released his debut feature film, "13 Tzameti," which garnered critical acclaim and earned him the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival for Best Debut Film. The film also received the Jury Prize at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.

Collaborations and Achievements

Babluani collaborated with his father, acclaimed filmmaker Teimuraz Babluani, on the 2006 film "L'Héritage." The film was recognized at the Sundance Film Festival with a Special Jury Prize.
