Geoffrey Moore, the younger of two sons, was born on July 31, 1946, in Portland, Oregon. He earned a bachelor's degree in American literature from Stanford University in 1967 and a doctorate in English literature from the University of Washington in 1974. In the same year, he became an English professor at Olivet College in Michigan.

Career in Technology and Consulting

In 1978, Moore and his family moved to Palo Alto, California, where he began working in training, sales, and marketing. Prior to his work with 'The McKenna Group', Moore held executive positions in sales and marketing at companies such as 'Rand Information Systems', 'Enhansys', and 'Mitem'. He is currently a venture partner at 'Mohr Davidow Ventures' and the managing director of 'TCG Advisors'.

In 1987, Moore joined the consulting firm of Regis McKenna, and in 1992, he founded his own consulting firm, 'The Chasm Group'. He gained public attention with his book 'Crossing the Chasm', which was published in 1991 and presented his ideas to a wide audience.

Personal Life and Hobbies

Geoffrey Moore married Marie Moore in 1968, and they have three adult children together. At the age of 64, the consultant and author of five popular books, including his most recent work 'Dealing with Darwin: How Great Companies Innovate at Every Phase of Their Evolution', which was published in 2005, earns $15,000 a day for his services. He also devotes a significant amount of time to his hobbies, including cooking and reading.
