Biography of George Stephanopoulos
George Stephanopoulos is a well-known American broadcaster and political figure. He currently serves as the Chief Washington Correspondent for ABC News and is also the host of the morning show "This Week" alongside co-host Cokie Roberts.

Early Life and Education
George Stephanopoulos was born on February 10, 1961, in Fall River, Massachusetts, USA. He grew up in Parachute and the suburbs of Cleveland. His parents were Greek immigrants, and his father was a priest, which instilled in him strong values and a religious upbringing. Despite initially considering following in his father's footsteps and dedicating his life to the clergy, Stephanopoulos eventually chose a different path.

He attended Orange High School, where he discovered his passion for journalism. During his time there, he actively participated in various sports competitions, although his physical stature limited his success against stronger opponents. In 1982, Stephanopoulos earned his bachelor's degree while working as a sports commentator.

Political Career
Stephanopoulos made a promise to his father that if he did not pursue a religious vocation, he would attend law school. He also pursued theological education at Oxford. After completing college, Stephanopoulos began his career as an assistant to Ed Feighan. In 1988, he joined Michael Dukakis' presidential campaign and gained valuable experience and connections. He later became one of Bill Clinton's top political consultants during the 1992 presidential elections. Stephanopoulos was then appointed as the Director of Communications for President Clinton.
Broadcasting Career
In 1996, Stephanopoulos decided to leave the White House and pursue a career in public broadcasting. He joined ABC News and currently holds the position of Chief Washington Correspondent. Additionally, he hosts the morning show "This Week" alongside Cokie Roberts, which airs in the morning.
