In 1991, Voinovich was elected Governor of Ohio. As the 65th governor of the state, he focused on education reform, tax cuts, and balanced budgets. His accomplishments included the passage of the Third Frontier Act, which invested in technology and innovation in Ohio.
United States Senator
Voinovich served as a United States Senator from Ohio from 1999 to 2011. In the Senate, he was known for his bipartisanship and his work on budget issues. He chaired the Senate Finance Committee from 2007 to 2009.
