Early Life and Prodigy
Giorgi Latsabidze, the Georgian-American pianist and composer, was born into a family of engineers in Tbilisi, Georgia. Despite his lack of musical lineage, Latsabidze began playing piano by ear at the age of three and composed his first works at five. At 11, he won a city-wide music competition and made his orchestral debut with Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1.
Concert Career and Performances
Latsabidze has graced the stages of prestigious festivals in Salzburg, Vienna, Berlin, Florence, Lisbon, Beijing, Honolulu, and Monte-Carlo. His performance in Salzburg was captured in a documentary film that aired on K-TV and was distributed to various parts of Europe.
Compositions and Film Scores
As a composer, Latsabidze has written music for the award-winning film "Waltz-Fantasy" (2000). His modern compositions include variations on Bach and "Cyber Moment" for violin and piano.
Accolades and Honors
Latsabidze has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Nikolai Rubinstein International Competition (1999), the Ennio Porrino International Competition (1998), and the Los Angeles Young Artists Competition (2006). He has also received scholarships from the Georgian President, Vladimir Spivakov Foundation, and the DAAD. In 2011, he was conferred a Doctor of Musical Arts.
Teaching and International Engagements
Latsabidze has served as president of the MTNA chapter at the University of Southern California and taught piano at several universities, including the University of Southern California, Azusa Pacific University, and Glendale Community College. He travels extensively for masterclasses and concerts throughout Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States.

Latsabidze's repertoire encompasses works by Scarlatti, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Liszt, Chopin, Brahms, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky, and Schoenberg. His performances and compositions have made him a renowned musician and educator, leaving a lasting mark on the global musical landscape.
