Jean-Jacques Kantorow

Early Life and Career

Jean-Jacques Kantorow, a renowned French violinist, was born into a musical family. At the tender age of 15, he achieved international acclaim by winning first prize at the 1951 Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud International Competition.

Trio à Cordes Français

In 1960, Kantorow joined forces with Serge Collot and Michel Tournus to form the Trio à Cordes Français. The trio embarked on a successful 32-year journey, performing extensively throughout the world.

Orchestral Collaborations

From 1969 onwards, Kantorow served as concertmaster of Jean-François Paillard's chamber orchestra. He participated in major concert programs, notably performing all of Jean-Marie Leclair's violin concertos in 1977. Additionally, from 1984 to 2001, he held the position of concertmaster in the Orchestre National d'Île-de-France.
