Born on August 23, 1933, in Kursk, Russia, Herman Gold is a Jewish artist and an honored artist of Ukraine. He is known for his skills in painting, drawing, and watercolor. Gold has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1964. Currently, he resides and works in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Educational Background
Gold attended the Yelets Art School from 1949 to 1957, with a break for military service from 1952 to 1956. He studied under Andrei Ilyich Kurnakov, a graduate of the Kharkiv Art Institute, who Gold considers his "godfather." Gold also learned from Berta Arnoldovna Giller, a former student of Mikhail Lvovich Boichuk at the Kyiv Art Institute, and Valentin Andreevich Dudchenko.
