Biography of Jerry Sandquist
Jerry Sandquist was born on October 6, 1955, in Manchester. He had a promising career as an English actor, appearing in numerous television and film projects in the 1970s and early 1980s. Some of his notable works include the TV series "Soldier and Me," "The Mallens," and "Siege of Golden Hill." Sandquist also made a guest appearance in the sci-fi series "Space: 1999" alongside stars Martin Landau and Patrick Troughton. He portrayed Alan Strang in the famous play "Equus" at the Albery Theatre in the mid-1970s.
Tragic End
Despite the promising start to his career, Sandquist's last film role was in the horror movie "Don't Open 'til Christmas," directed by Edmund Purdom, in 1984. Unfortunately, nine years later, Jerry tragically took his own life.
Legacy
Jerry Sandquist's brother, Geoffrey Sundquist, later wrote a children's book titled "Father Christmas and the Missing Reindeer," dedicated to Jerry's memory. The book was adapted into a 25-minute animated short film, featuring the voices of David Jason and Jimmy Hibbert.
