Early Life and Education
Patrick John Warburton was born on November 14, 1964, in Paterson, New Jersey. His family relocated to Huntington Beach, California, when he was three. His father, John Warburton, was an orthopedic surgeon, while his mother, Barbara Lord (née Barbara Jeanette Gratz), was an actress. Patrick has three sisters: Mary, Lara, and Megan.
After graduating from Servite High School in Anaheim, California, Warburton briefly studied marine biology at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California. However, he dropped out to pursue a career in acting and modeling.
Acting Career
Warburton's roles often capitalize on his deep voice and imposing physique. He gained prominence in the mid to late 1990s for his portrayal of David Puddy on the sitcom "Seinfeld." He also starred in the lead role in the short-lived FOX sitcom "The Tick." Notable film roles include the NASA official in "Contact" and the vindictive Johnny Johnson on "NewsRadio."
In the mid-1990s, Warburton appeared on the CBS sitcom "Dave's World" as Eric and played Craig in "Designing Women." He portrayed police officer Walter Kramitz in the 2002 film "Big Trouble" and had a small role as Agent T in "Men in Black II."
Voice Acting
Warburton has become a sought-after voice actor, thanks to his distinctive vocal characteristics. He served as the voice of the titular character in the animated series "Game Over," Buzz Lightyear in "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command," Nick Sharpe in "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter," and Steve Barkin in Disney's "Kim Possible."
