Biography
Giancarlo Fisichella was born on January 14, 1973, in Rome, Italy. He currently resides in Rome with his wife Luna and their two children. He started his career in 1992 and won the Italian F3 Championship in 1994. In 1995, he participated in the International Touring Car Championship and represented the Alfa Romeo youth team. He finished 6th in the championship in 1996. In 1996, he joined Formula 1 as a reserve driver for Minardi and competed in 8 races in the first part of the season. He also worked as a test driver for Ferrari. In 1997, he joined Jordan Grand Prix in Formula 1 and achieved two podium finishes in Belgium and Canada. He finished 8th in the World Championship. In 1998, he competed for Benetton and finished second in Monaco and Montreal. He finished 9th in the World Championship. He continued to compete in Formula 1 for various teams, including Benetton, Jordan Grand Prix, and Sauber, achieving podium finishes and consistently ranking in the top positions. In 2005, he became an official driver for the Renault F1 Team.
