Narain Karthikeyan: The Pioneer of Indian Formula 1
Narain Karthikeyan, a trailblazing Indian race car driver, made history as the first Indian driver to compete in Formula 1. Joining the Jordan team in 2005, he embarked on an illustrious career in the pinnacle of motorsport.
From Jordan to Williams
After a promising debut, Karthikeyan switched to WilliamsF1 as a test driver from 2006 to 2007. This opportunity allowed him to hone his skills and gain valuable experience in a competitive environment.
A1 GP and Superleague Formula
After leaving Formula 1, Karthikeyan turned his attention to other racing series. In 2007-2009, he represented the Indian national team in the A1 GP championship, achieving a notable victory at the British Grand Prix on the iconic Brands Hatch circuit. From 2010 to 2011, he participated in the Superleague Formula championship, representing PSV Eindhoven.
Return to Formula 1 with HRT
In 2011, Karthikeyan returned to Formula 1 with HRT, a Spanish team making its debut in the championship. Despite facing technical challenges, he showcased his determination and perseverance in a demanding motorsport environment.
