Gianluca Curci: A Promising Italian Goalkeeper

Gianluca Curci, an Italian goalkeeper, began his career at the AS Roma academy. At the age of 19, he became the starting goalkeeper for the second half of the 2004/05 season due to injuries suffered by Ivan Pelizzoli and Carlo Zotti.

Initial Career and Loss of Position

In the following season, Brazilian goalkeeper Doni took over Curci's place, and he once again lost his position in the team. In June 2008, Curci joined AC Siena, who acquired half of his contract.

Return to Sampdoria and Re-Acquisition by Roma

On July 2, 2010, Curci moved to UC Sampdoria, who also acquired half of his contract from Siena. During the summer transfer window, AS Roma fully re-acquired Curci to become their starting goalkeeper.
