Early Life and Club Career
Christian "Kily" González, an Argentine midfielder, began his football journey at Rosario Central in his hometown in 1993. After 88 appearances and 10 goals, he moved to Boca Juniors. His impressive performances led to a transfer to Spanish club Zaragoza in 1997, where he played 92 matches and scored 15 goals over two years.
Valencia and Inter Milan
In 2003, González joined Valencia in Spain, where he spent four years, making 87 appearances, scoring 8 goals, and providing 3 assists. Following the expiration of his contract, he moved to Inter Milan in Serie A. However, his stint with the Italian club proved less successful, with 51 matches played without scoring a single goal.
Return to Argentina and International Career
In 2006, González returned to Rosario Central and played 76 matches, scoring 10 goals. He later joined San Lorenzo in 2009.
During his decade-long international career with Argentina (1995-2005), González played in 56 matches and scored 9 goals. Notably, he won the Olympic football tournament in Athens in 2004, where he was one of three over-23 players allowed. He also participated in two Copa América tournaments and the disappointing 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea.
