Giselle Salandy was born on January 25, 1987, in Siparia, Trinidad and Tobago. She began her professional boxing career at the age of 13, displaying a remarkable talent and skill in the ring. Despite her young age, Salandy quickly established herself as one of the strongest women in boxing on the global stage.

Despite being underage to compete in professional boxing, Salandy and her trainer resorted to deception. They falsified her birth certificate to officially participate in competitions, as only girls over 18 were allowed in the ring. She achieved numerous victories in various weight categories and held titles such as WBC and WBA lightweight champion.
