Early Life and Education
Bohdan Stupka was born in 1954 in Khorostkiv, Ukrainian SSR. In 1976, he graduated from the Kyiv State Institute of Theater Arts named after I. Karpenko-Kary, where he studied under renowned actor and director Borys Stavytsky.
Theatrical Career in Ukraine
From 1976 to 1980, Stupka performed at the Kharkiv Theater named after Taras Shevchenko. In 1980, he joined the Kyiv Youth Theater, and later transitioned to the Kaunas State Drama Theater. From 1985 to 1990, he was a leading actor at the theater founded by renowned director Anatoly Vasiliev.
International Acclaim
In 1989, Stupka graduated from the Russian Academy of Theater Arts (GITIS) as a director, also under Vasiliev's tutelage. In 1990, he relocated to Canada, where he continued his acting and directing career. He is noted for his roles in international productions such as the musical "Dracula - Entre l'amour et la mort" starring Bruno Pelletier.
Television and Other Projects
In 2004, Stupka co-hosted the Ukrainian season of the television show "Fort Boyard" alongside Vita Smachelyuk. His daughter, Yevhenia Stupka, born on December 7, 1982, is also an actress.
Legacy
Bohdan Stupka passed away in 2012, leaving behind a legacy as one of Ukraine's most celebrated actors and directors. His contributions to the performing arts continue to inspire generations of artists to this day.
