Early Life and Career
Ariel Pereyra, an Argentine footballer, was born into a family of footballers. His brother, Federico Pereyra, also pursued a professional career in the sport. Pereyra began his training at the River Plate Academy and made his professional debut with the club, known as the "Millonarios." He played a pivotal role in securing four Argentine Primera División championships for River Plate.
Spanish and Swiss Odyssey
In 2004, Pereyra moved to Spanish club Mallorca. To navigate the restrictions imposed on non-EU players, he acquired Italian citizenship. After a brief stint in Spain, he transferred to Swiss club Young Boys in 2009. He made his debut for the team in March of the same year in the Swiss Cup.
Moscow Interlude and Return to Argentina
In 2008, Pereyra joined Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow. However, health issues hindered his ability to establish himself in the team. He then returned to his home country and played for San Lorenzo de Almagro during the 2010/11 season.
Family Ties and Achievements
Pereyra's brother, Federico, followed in his sporting footsteps. As a testament to his contributions to Argentine football, Pereyra holds the distinction of winning four Argentine Primera División championships: 1999 (Apertura), 2000 (Clausura), 2002 (Clausura), and 2003 (Clausura).
