Biography of Guy Forget
Guy Forget is a French professional tennis player and tennis coach. He is a two-time winner of the Davis Cup and a winner of the World Cup in the French team. He also won the doubles tournament at the 1990 Masters.

Early Career
Guy Forget started playing professional tournaments at the age of 17 in 1982. In his first appearance at the French Open, he reached the third round, defeating former world number one Ilie Nastase. Later that year, he reached the semifinals of the Grand Prix tournament in Taipei and the third round of the Australian Open. He finished the year as the top-ranked junior player in the ITF rankings.

In 1984, Forget made his debut in the Davis Cup for France and participated in the Olympic tennis tournament in Los Angeles. In 1985, he won his first Grand Prix doubles titles in Stockholm and London. He also had a successful singles season, reaching the semifinals of the Swiss Open.

Doubles Success
In 1986, Forget had a breakthrough year in doubles, winning six Grand Prix titles, including the Italian Open, the second-most prestigious clay court tournament. He reached his career-high doubles ranking of third in the world. He also reached the final of the year-end Masters tournament with Yannick Noah.

In 1987, Forget reached the final of the French Open in doubles but was unable to secure the title. He continued to have success in doubles, reaching the semifinals of Wimbledon and winning several tournaments throughout the year.
Singles Success and Davis Cup Triumph
In 1991, Forget had a breakthrough in singles, winning six tournaments, including two ATP Championship Series titles. He reached a career-high ranking of fourth in the world. He also continued to have success in doubles, winning five titles.
In 1992, Forget reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and Wimbledon, securing his place in the year-end ATP Championship Series. He also played for the French Davis Cup team, helping them win their first-ever Davis Cup title.
In 1993, Forget reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and won the ATP Championship Series in Indian Wells. He continued to have success in doubles, winning three titles.
Late Career and Retirement
In 1996, Forget had his last significant successes in singles, reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open and the quarterfinals of Wimbledon and the US Open. He also won his second Davis Cup title with the French team.
Guy Forget retired from professional tennis after Wimbledon in 1997 but continued to participate in the French Open for three more years as a personal invitee. He has since become a successful tennis coach and has worked with top players, including Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
