Early Life and EducationGwen Jorgensen, born in 1986, hails from St. Paul, Minnesota. Her parents, Nancy and Joel, instilled a love of athletics in their two daughters, Gwen and Elizabeth. Gwen attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she excelled in both swimming and running, competing on the university's varsity teams.
Transition to Triathlon
After graduating with a master's degree in accounting, Jorgensen worked briefly as an accountant at Ernst & Young. However, her passion for endurance sports led her to give up her desk job and focus on triathlon. In 2010, she made her professional debut and quickly rose through the ranks.
Breakthrough and World Dominance
Jorgensen's breakthrough came in 2014, when she won five World Triathlon Series events and claimed the overall victory with a commanding lead. She repeated this feat in 2015, winning seven events and securing her second consecutive world championship title.
