Early Life and Career
Born in Austria to Hungarian parents, Gyepes began his football journey at Haladas in Hungary before joining Rapid Vienna's youth academy. In 2002, he made his professional debut with Rapid, playing over 80 matches and scoring once. During his tenure, Rapid won the Austrian Bundesliga in 2004/05 and reached the group stage of the UEFA Champions League in 2005.
Italian Adventure
In 2006, Gyepes moved to Napoli for a transfer fee of €700,000. He played for Napoli for two seasons before being loaned to Atalanta in 2008. In August 2010, he joined Bologna from Atalanta.
Bundesliga Years
In 2015, Gyepes moved to Germany and signed for Darmstadt 98, where he stayed until 2017.
International Career
Gyepes played for the Austrian U-21 team as captain, earning 23 caps. He made his debut for the Austrian national team in 2006 and went on to make 64 appearances, scoring 5 goals. He represented Austria at the 2008 UEFA European Championship.
