Despite his advanced age of 86, he led an active lifestyle, attending conferences in cities like Chengdu and Beijing, reciting sutras at Minshanda Temple, and sharing the secrets of Shaolin with his numerous disciples.

Haideng attributed his remarkable ability to perform complex exercises, such as standing on two fingers, to his lifelong celibacy. He believed that marriage would have hindered his relentless training. Despite his busy schedule, he embarked on pilgrimages across the globe.

Meeting Master Haideng was an experience that defied expectations. Standing at a mere 1.60 meters tall, he possessed an air of lightness and agility. His piercing eyes reflected his vigor and health. His signature head movements and exceptional memory belied his age. He was not merely an elderly monk but an embodiment of astonishing skill.

When prompted to discuss his craft, Haideng remained modest. However, one of his disciples shared insights into four extraordinary exercises he performed regularly:

A Legacy of Martial ArtsHaideng's martial arts journey began under the tutelage of Shaolin master Ru Feng at age 7. He excelled in exercises such as "turtle head standing" and finger push-ups. The latter requires standing on one finger, eventually progressing to a single finger.
