Hannnes Þór Halldórsson
Hannes Þór Halldórsson is an Icelandic footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Danish club Randers and the Iceland national team. He is also known for his work as a director, having created several short films and music videos, including the music video for the song "Never Forget" by Greta Salome & Jonsi, which represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012.
Club Career
Halldórsson began his playing career in Iceland with clubs such as Leiknir, Afturelding, Stjarnan, Fram, and Reykjavík. In March 2012, he was loaned to Norwegian club Brann as a short-term replacement for injured goalkeeper Piotr Leciejewski.
In December 2013, Halldórsson signed for Norwegian club Sandefjord after training with them in October 2013 during Iceland's preparation for their World Cup qualifying playoffs against Croatia.
Halldórsson moved to the Netherlands in July 2015, signing a two-year contract with NEC. A year later, he transferred to Danish club Randers.
International Career
Halldórsson made his international debut for Iceland in 2011, keeping a clean sheet in a European Championship qualifier against Cyprus. He has since established himself as the national team's first-choice goalkeeper, playing in all 12 of Iceland's matches in the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.
He was also the starting goalkeeper in the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers, where Iceland qualified for their first-ever major tournament. At the tournament in France, Halldórsson started in all of Iceland's matches.
