Biography of Harry Delmar

Harry Delmar was born in 1892 in Missouri, USA. His career in the entertainment industry began on Broadway, where he worked as a producer. Later, he ventured into the world of cinema, not only as a producer but also as a director. Before this, Harry had attempted to establish himself as an actor in vaudeville shows.

In 1929, Delmar became the creator of the short films "Syncopated Trial" and "After the Show," for which he also wrote the screenplays. In 1930, he released a series of short films including "Her Hired Husband," "A Night in a Dormitory," "Ride 'em Cowboy," "Sixteen Sweeties," and "America or Bust." However, after 1930, Delmar did not continue making films.

During his time in the theater, Harry provided the opportunity for actor Bert Lahr to make his Broadway debut, who later became a comedy star. One of Delmar's major successes on Broadway was his revue "Harry Delmar's Revels," which ran in 1927 and 1928 and had 112 performances.

Towards the end of his life, Delmar worked on the creation of "Up Your Alley" alongside popular composer Buddy Feyne. Harry Delmar passed away on August 29, 1984, at the age of 91 in Los Angeles, California.
