Haylie Katherine Duff was born on February 19, 1985, and is an American actress, singer, and songwriter. She is the older sister of Hilary Duff and has starred in various popular films. Duff's career began with appearances in television films such as "Hope" and "True Woman" as well as guest roles on shows like "The Amanda Show."
Breakout Roles
Duff rose to fame as Amy Sanders in the Disney Channel series "Lizzie McGuire," which starred her younger sister, Hilary. While her sister's career quickly eclipsed her own, Haylie continued to make appearances on television. In 2004, she landed a role as Katina Jones in "That's So Raven" and made her feature film debut in "Napoleon Dynamite."
Further Success
Following guest appearances in "Joan of Arcadia" and "American Dreams," Duff provided voice work for the Christmas animation "In Search of Santa," which also featured her sister. She joined the cast of "7th Heaven" in 2005 as Sandy Jameson, the best friend of Simon's girlfriend who gets pregnant by Martin Brewer. Duff made her Broadway debut in the musical "Hairspray" in the summer of 2006, playing the role of the villainous Amber Von Tussle until October 2006. She also starred alongside her sister in the film "Material Girls."
