At the age of 16, Fleiss dropped out of school and briefly attended Wally College before enrolling in Santa Monica College. She worked as a waitress for a while until she crossed paths with financier Bernie Cornfeld. In 1988, she met Elizabeth Adams, a former madam from Beverly Hills who catered exclusively to affluent clientele.

In 1990, Fleiss opened her own high-end brothel, earning her the moniker she is known by today. However, in 1993, she faced charges of pandering in five separate cases, with a jury convicting her of three incidents. She was sentenced to three years in prison.

In 1996, Fleiss filed an appeal, during which it was discovered that some jury members had been bribed and other legal violations had taken place. Nevertheless, a year later, she found herself back in court, this time charged with tax evasion and money laundering. She was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison in Dublin, California. Both court cases garnered significant media attention, as there was intrigue surrounding the possibility of Fleiss revealing the identities of her clients, many of whom were well-known and respected individuals. Eventually, she did publish a "blacklist" of her visitors, which included the names of several famous personalities.

Fleiss acted as a matchmaker for the world's wealthiest men, carefully selecting partners for them based on their desires and fantasies. She charged a fee of 40% of each transaction for her services. After her legal troubles subsided, Fleiss launched her own clothing line under the brand "Heidi Wear." In 2005, she planned to open a sex boutique called "The Little Shop of Sex" in Los Angeles and establish a legal brothel in Nevada modeled after the White House.

Heidi Fleiss has written several captivating books, detailing the intricacies of her work and sharing insights into her relationships with clients and employees. Two of her works are titled "Pandering" and "The Player's Handbook." She also released a DVD titled "Sex Tips," featuring Victoria Sellers.
