Henriette Strobel: The Dschinghis Khan Star

Henriette Strobel (née Strobel) is a German singer best known for her participation in the pop group Dschinghis Khan.

Early Life and Career

Henriette was born on November 13, 1953, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She received a modeling education and worked as a model before joining Dschinghis Khan. In 1976, she married Wolfgang Heichel and adopted his surname.

Dschinghis Khan Success

In 1979, Henriette joined Dschinghis Khan, a group formed by Ralph Siegel for the Eurovision Song Contest. The group achieved fame with their 1979 single "Dschinghis Khan," which became a global hit. They performed at the Eurovision Song Contest in Jerusalem and finished in fourth place.

Post-Dschinghis Khan

Dschinghis Khan disbanded in 1985. Henriette divorced Wolfgang Heichel the following year and resumed using her maiden name. She rejoined a spin-off group called Dschinghis Khan Family in 1986.

Return to Modeling and Personal Life

After the dissolution of Dschinghis Khan Family, Henriette returned to the modeling industry. In 2004, she met Alexander Ams, a yacht captain, on the island of Mallorca. They have been in a civil partnership ever since.

Dschinghis Khan Reunion

In 2005, Dschinghis Khan reunited in Moscow. Henriette has been an active member of the group ever since.
