Biography of Henry Cavill
Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill was born on May 5, 1983, in St. Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands. He is the fourth son of Colin Cavill, a stockbroker, and Marianne Cavill, a bank secretary. Henry attended St. Michael's Preparatory School in St. Saviour, Jersey, and later Stowe School in Buckinghamshire, where he graduated with a diploma in secondary education.

During his time at Stowe, Henry discovered his passion for acting and began participating in school plays. His first role was in the 2001 thriller "Laguna," where he played the character of Thomas, a young man who moves to Venice after the death of his parents.

From 2002 to 2010, Henry appeared in various films and TV shows, including "The Count of Monte Cristo" (2002), "Inspector Lynley Mysteries" (2002), "Goodbye, Mr. Chips" (2002), "I Capture the Castle" (2003), "Midsomer Murders" (2003), "Hellraiser: Hellworld" (2005), "Tristan & Isolde" (2006), "Red Riding Hood" (2006), "The Tudors" (2007-2010), "Stardust" (2007), "Whatever Works" (2009), and "Blood Creek" (2009).

His breakthrough role came in the TV series "The Tudors," where he portrayed Charles Brandon, the close friend of King Henry VIII. This role brought Henry recognition in the United States and led to opportunities in Hollywood. However, he faced several disappointments during auditions for major film franchises like "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and "Casino Royale."
In 2011, Henry landed the lead role in the fantasy epic "Immortals," followed by the action film "The Cold Light of Day" (2012). However, his most notable role came in 2013 when he portrayed Clark Kent / Superman in the superhero film "Man of Steel." The film was a commercial success and catapulted Henry into international fame. He reprised the role of Superman in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" (2016) and "Justice League" (2017), although both films received mixed reviews.
Despite the mixed reception of the DC films, Henry's career continued to flourish. He appeared in movies such as "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." (2015), "Sand Castle" (2017), "Mission: Impossible – Fallout" (2018), and "Enola Holmes" (2020), where he played the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. He also starred in the Netflix fantasy series "The Witcher" (2019), portraying the monster hunter Geralt of Rivia.
While his professional life thrived, Henry's personal life remained relatively quiet. He was in a romantic relationship with equestrian Ellen Whitaker from 2009 to 2012, but they called off their engagement. Henry's fans continue to support him in his career and hope that he finds love just as successful as his on-screen ventures.
