Paolo Dellafiore: A Promising Italian Defender
Paolo Dellafiore is an Italian football player of Argentine descent who plays as a defender. Born in Argentina, he moved to Italy with his family at the tender age of four.
Early Career and Debut with Inter
Dellafiore began his football journey in various youth clubs, eventually joining Inter Milan's youth academy. On December 7, 2005, he made his senior debut for Inter in a Champions League match against Anderlecht. However, that appearance would be his first and last for the Nerazzurri.
Loans and Regular Play
Following his Inter debut, Dellafiore was sent on loan to Spezia in Serie C1 and later to Treviso in Serie B. With Treviso, he made his debut in a friendly match against his former club, Inter, which they lost 3-0. In 2006, he joined Palermo, where he played sparingly as a backup to Fabio Grosso.
Torino Sojourn and Return to Palermo
In 2007, Dellafiore moved on loan to Torino in Serie B, where he featured more regularly. Torino attempted to sign him permanently at the end of the season, but Palermo retained him by offering an improved contract. In the 2008-09 season, he played limited minutes for Palermo and was loaned back to Torino in January 2009, before joining Parma for the remainder of the campaign.
Further Loans and International Recognition
Parma acquired Dellafiore on loan again in August 2010. In January 2011, he was loaned out to Cesena. Possessing dual citizenship, Dellafiore chose to represent Italy at the youth levels but never made an appearance for the senior national team.
