Biography of Hossam Hassan
Hossam Hassan is an Egyptian football player who is considered one of the best footballers in the history of Egyptian football. He was born on August 10, 1966. He primarily played as a forward.
Career
Hossam Hassan played for several clubs throughout his career. He started his professional career with Al Ahly from 1984 to 1990 and then from 1992 to 2000. He also had stints with PAOK in Greece in 1990/91, Xamax in Switzerland in 1991/92, Al Ain in the UAE in 1999/2000, and Zamalek in Egypt from 2000 onwards. He played a total of 311 matches in the Egyptian, Greek, and Swiss leagues and scored 151 goals. He also played in various African and Arab cup competitions, scoring a total of 33 goals in 76 matches. In addition, he played 25 matches in the Egyptian Cup and scored 9 goals and 3 matches in the Egyptian Super Cup, scoring 1 goal. Overall, he played 418 matches and scored 198 goals during his club career.
International Career
Hossam Hassan represented the Egyptian national team in 160 matches and scored 61 goals. He made his international debut in 1985 against Norway and played his last match in 2002 against Cameroon. He was part of the Egyptian team that won the African Cup of Nations in 1986 and 1998. He also represented Egypt in various Arab and African cup competitions, winning several titles with the national team.
Achievements
Hossam Hassan achieved numerous titles and awards throughout his career. He won several Egyptian Premier League titles with Al Ahly and Zamalek, including thirteen championships with Al Ahly.
