Idan Ofer is a renowned international business leader and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience. Born in Israel in 1956, Ofer studied at the London Business School and graduated from the University of Haifa with a degree in economics and maritime transport. He comes from a wealthy background, as his father Sammy Ofer was one of the richest individuals in Israel.

After his father's passing on June 3, 2011, Idan and his brother Eyal inherited his fortune. Ofer currently serves as the chairman of the international enterprise group "Quantum Pacific Group," which has made significant investments in the development of international shipping. The group has partnered with "Pacific Drilling," a deepwater drilling contractor listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Additionally, Quantum Pacific Group has formed a partnership with "Israel Corporation," the largest holding company in Israel listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE).

Ofer is also the chairman and indirect largest shareholder of the California-based company "Better Place," which focuses on developing next-generation transportation infrastructure for electric vehicles. In addition to his role in Quantum Pacific Group and Better Place, Ofer is a member of the board of directors of "Israel Corporation," where he previously held the position of chairman from 1999 to 2001. The primary focus of Israel Corporation's investments is in fertilizers, specialty chemicals, energy, maritime transport, and logistics. Through his controlling stake in Israel Corporation, Ofer also holds shares in other companies such as "Qoros Automotive," "Israel Chemicals," "Oil Refineries," "IC Power," and more.

Furthermore, Ofer is one of the founders of the "Carbon War Room" project in Washington, D.C. The project's objective is to find market-based solutions to pressing climate change issues and the development of a carbon-neutral economy.
