Biography of Ignat Akrachkov
Ignat Akrachkov is a renowned actor and recipient of the Best Actor Award at the 9th Festival of Russian Cinema in 2001. He graduated from the Shchukin Theatre School in 1999. It was during his time at the school that Akrachkov made his first appearance in a film, playing a minor role in the youth series "Let's Get Acquainted!". However, his true debut came in Karen Shakhnazarov's comedy "Poisons, or the World History of Poisonings", released in 2001. In this film, Akrachkov portrayed the character of actor Oleg Volkov, a deceived husband who seeks revenge with the help of an elderly pensioner, Prokhorov (played by Oleg Basilashvili). The unique and grotesque nature of the film, combined with Akrachkov's outstanding performance, garnered attention from both audiences and professionals. At the 9th Festival of Russian Cinema held in Onfler, France, Ignat Akrachkov was honored with the Best Actor award.
Rising Career
Following his award-winning performance, Akrachkov became a sought-after actor and received regular invitations to play various roles. Over the course of three years, he appeared in a dozen films, including the drama "In Motion", the adventure film "Spartacus and Kalashnikov", the action movie "Red Snake", and the television series "Code of Honor", "Empire's Demise", and "Bayazet", among others. In 2004, Ignat Akrachkov was invited to portray Lieutenant Smalkov in the popular series "Soldiers". This was not his first experience playing a military character, as he had previously portrayed officers in "Spartacus and Kalashnikov", "Code of Honor", and "Bayazet". His portrayal of the intelligent Baron Klugenhau in the historical series "Bayazet" particularly stood out to audiences. Despite not fitting the typical military appearance, Akrachkov brilliantly embodied the character and left a lasting impression. The Beloved Lieutenant
"Smalkov is a composite of people I know. Moreover, I have played military characters in five previous films," says Akrachkov. "Smalkov has become my favorite character, although he is not at all similar to me. But I had to love him in order for the audience to love him. As the ratings later showed, people love Smalkov! Specifically for the character of Captain Smalkov, I created traits such as pedantry, naivety, and excessive romanticism in relationships with women. None of these traits are typical of me." The role of Lieutenant (and later Captain) Smalkov indeed brought Ignat Akrachkov nationwide fame and the love of the audience. For the actor himself, this two-year-long project served as a valuable learning experience.
Personal Life
Ignat Akrachkov is currently married for the second time. "My first wife couldn't handle it and left me for someone else, giving birth to three children with him," confesses the actor. His current wife, Ekaterina Korneychuk, is also an actress who studied with Akrachkov at the Shchukin Theatre School. However, she rarely appears in films, and viewers may recognize her from the series "Law and Order". According to Ignat Akrachkov, Ekaterina is a homely person who values comfort and finds it difficult to endure the hardships of filming, relocations, and expeditions.
