Early Life and Amateur Career
Igor Figueiredo, a Brazilian snooker player, was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. His passion for snooker began at the tender age of 5 when he stumbled upon a "toy" snooker table at home. At the age of 13, Figueiredo showcased his exceptional talent by securing 3rd place in the National Cup, an amateur tournament. Throughout his amateur career, he emerged as a formidable force in Brazil, capturing several national championships.
Breakthrough on the World Stage
Figueiredo's international breakthrough came in 2009 when he reached the final of the World Amateur Snooker Championship. Although he narrowly lost to Elfyn Burden with a score of 8-10, this achievement propelled him into the limelight. The following season, he participated in the PIOS tournament series, capturing an impressive 12th place.
Entry into the Main Tour
Figueiredo's stellar performance earned him a wildcard entry into the prestigious World Snooker Main Tour for the 2010/11 season. As a result, he became the first-ever Brazilian snooker player to grace the top-tier professional circuit.
Debut Season: Mixed Fortunes
Figueiredo's maiden professional season was marked by a mix of highs and lows. He showcased impressive form in the PTC series and even made it to the televised round of the World Open. However, his televised debut against the seasoned Mark Williams was a tough encounter, and Figueiredo was ultimately outmatched.

Figueiredo's early success elevated him to the 70s in the world rankings, inching him closer to the coveted top 64. However, a first-round loss to Chinese player Liu Chuang at the UK Championship hindered his progress towards that goal. Figueiredo's highest break in main tour events stands at 100 points, while he has recorded a 138-point break in pro-am competitions.
