Biography of Igor Birch

Igor Yaroslavovich Birch, known as Garik, was born on September 15, 1974, in Dolinskaya, Kirovohrad Oblast. He is an actor, comedian, and author of popular entertainment and humor TV shows. He is also a participant of the Ukrainian TV project "Comedy Club Ukraine" and the Higher Ukrainian League of KVN and the Higher League of KVN in Moscow.

Early Life and Career

Garik spent his childhood actively participating in various activities such as football, volleyball, table tennis, dancing, and even playing the violin for a week. In school, he started his creative career by joining the school KVN team. His portrayal of a foreign ambassador and a parody of Mikhail Gorbachev gained him success and paved the way for his future in the entertainment industry.

In 1991, Garik enrolled at the Pedagogical Institute in Kirovohrad and became a member of the main KVN team in the city called "SKIF." Around the same time, he founded the KVN team "Gulfstream" with his friends, which became the Champion of the city three times and the Vice-Champion of the KVN Association of Ukraine in 1998. The members of the team still maintain a strong friendship.

Professional Career

In 1995, while still in university, Garik started working in the Committee for Family and Youth Affairs of the Kirovohrad City Council. In 1998, he decided to fulfill his duty to his country and joined the army. After a year of service in the Border Troops, Garik returned to Kirovohrad as a senior sergeant and began working in local radio and TV.

In 2001, Garik moved to Kyiv and started working in a call center for the company UMC. However, his passion for creativity led him to work in TV for "Melorama-Production" two months later. From 2002 to 2004, he co-hosted the popular TV show "Deficit-Show 'Who is the Last!'" on the INTER TV channel with his longtime friend Anton Lirnik.

KVN and Acting Career

While pursuing his TV career, Garik continued his involvement in KVN. He gained recognition for his brilliant parodies of political elites in Ukraine, such as Leonid Kuchma, Viktor Yushchenko, Viktor Yanukovich, and Yulia Tymoshenko. Under his leadership, the Ukrainian KVN team "Alaska" became the Champion of the Higher Ukrainian League of KVN AMIK in 2005 and participated in the Higher League of KVN AMIK in Moscow in 2006 and 2007.

In 2007, Garik became a resident comedian at the Comedy Club UA, which led to his role as an actor and author in the popular entertainment and humor TV program "DomKom" on TRK Kyiv. He portrayed the character of Uncle Vitya, the building manager. From 2008 to 2011, he participated as an actor and author in various TV programs, including "Ukrainians Are Awesome" (ICTV), "Untouchables" (TRK Ukraine), "Actually-Show" (TRK Ukraine), "Bigudi-Show" (TET), "Shury-Mury" (ICTV), and "Love in a Big House" (K-1).

Film and Television Career

Garik's distinctive appearance, charm, and charisma have attracted the attention of filmmakers. He has appeared in TV series such as "Ex," "Dear People," "Two Sides of Anna," "Route of Mercy," "The Return of Mukhtar," "Euphrosyne."

Currently, Garik Birch is a regular participant in the TV program "Jokes in Ukrainian" on ICTV.
