Early Life and Education

The poet was born into a working-class family in Kyiv. He graduated from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute of Communications in 1980 and the evening department of the philological faculty of Kyiv University in 1988. Subsequently, he completed the Higher Literary Courses in 1993.

Professional Career

Prior to pursuing a literary career, the poet worked as an electrician at a factory from 1983 to 1988. He then served as a student club instructor from 1988 to 1989. From 1989 to 1991, he was an editor at the Golden Gates publishing house. He subsequently became the director of the Byzant publishing house from 1993 to 1997.

After a brief stint as a journalist for the Kyiv newspapers Vseukrainsky Vedomosti and Vecherniye Vesti, he established, published, and became the editor-in-chief of the Kyiv literary magazine Byzantysky Anhel in 1995.

Literary Accomplishments

The poet began publishing his work in 1985 in the magazine Raboche-Krestyansky Korrespondent. He has since authored several poetry collections, including:

"Vest o bratyakh" (1989)

"Izbrannye chernohiki" (1991)
"Igra veshchey" (1992)
"Strela, zamri v nebe" (1994)

He has also published a book of essays on poetry in Ukrainian titled "Zhaga khudozhnoho tekstu" (1996).

The poet's work has been translated into various languages, including Armenian, Kazakh, and Udmurt. He is a member of the Writers' Union of Ukraine since 1995.

Personal Life

The poet currently resides in Kyiv.
