Igor Lyakh, born on August 16, 1962, in Zagorsk, now Sergiev Posad, is a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor. He graduated from the M.S. Shchepkin Higher Theatre School in 1983, studying under the guidance of renowned artist N.N. Afonin, with artistic direction by People's Artist of the USSR N.A. Annenkov.
Theater Career
Lyakh began his acting career at the Maly Theatre and later worked at the Central Academic Theatre of the Russian Army, the M.N. Ermolova Moscow Drama Theatre, and the experimental theatre "Detective." He also participated in performances at the Central House of Arts Workers and the V. Meyerhold Creative Center.
Teaching
Since 2000, Lyakh has been teaching acting at the Shchepkin School, where he became the artistic director of the course in 2009. He has dedicated his efforts to training highly professional specialists in the field of theatrical arts.
Awards
Lyakh has received several awards throughout his career. In 1997, he was honored with the title of Merited Artist of the Russian Federation for his contributions to the arts. In 2009, he was awarded the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of Russian culture and the training of highly skilled professionals in the field of theatrical arts. Additionally, he has been recognized as a Merited Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan and a Merited Artist of the Republic of Kalmykia.
