Growing up, Ike had no plans for a career in entertainment. Initially pursuing a path in politics, he attended Boston University after graduating from Chicago's Latin School. However, he dropped out and worked in a transportation authority.
The Turning Point: A Journey into Comedy
A comedy show at The Vic Theater sparked Ike's passion for becoming a comedian. He moved to Los Angeles, where he landed a job as a waiter before joining the renowned comedy troupe, Boom Chicago. Barinholtz partnered with Josh Meyers to write and voice characters in the animated superhero parody "The Awesomes." He also appeared in the comedy hit "Neighbors" (2014) and its 2016 sequel.
For his role in the comedy "Sisters" (2015), he lost significant weight by abstaining from beer and cheese popcorn.
Despite initial rumors of playing the villain Hugo Strange in "Suicide Squad" (2016), Barinholtz portrayed the character Griggs. The film, which featured an A-list cast, grossed an impressive $746 million.
