Biography of Illya Kvasha

Early Life and Career

Illya Kvasha is a Ukrainian diver who was born on May 20, 1988. He began training in diving at a young age, and made his international debut at the 2004 European Championships.

Olympic Success

In 2008, Kvasha achieved his greatest triumph by winning a bronze medal in the synchronized 3-meter springboard event at the Summer Olympics in Beijing. Partnering with Oleksiy Pryhorov, the Ukrainian duo scored 415.05 points, just behind the teams from China and Russia.

European Championships

Kvasha has been a dominant force at the European Championships, claiming seven titles throughout his career. He won gold medals in the 1-meter springboard in 2004, 2008, 2010, and 2012, and in the synchronized 3-meter springboard in 2010. He also took silver in the 3-meter springboard in 2008 and bronze in the synchronized 3-meter springboard in 2012.

World Championships

Kvasha has also enjoyed success at the World Championships, earning two silver medals in the 1-meter springboard in 2006 and 2013, and a fifth-place finish in the same event in 2007.

Education and Awards

In addition to his sporting achievements, Kvasha is a student at the Mykolayiv State University named after Sukhomlynskyi. He has been awarded the Order of Courage III degree for his accomplishments in Beijing.
