József Zachár: A Hungarian Swimming Legacy

József Zachár was a Hungarian swimmer who earned a silver medal at the 1908 Summer Olympics.

Olympic Accolades

At the 1908 Games, Zachár showcased his prowess in two events. He contributed to his team's silver medal in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay and reached the semifinals of the 400-meter freestyle but did not finish the race.

In the subsequent 1912 Games, Zachár's relay team once again qualified for the final but did not compete. He also represented Hungary as a water polo player, but the team was defeated in its first match and subsequent rounds.

Zachár played water polo at the 1912 Olympics. Hungary's team lost in the first round and subsequent matches, failing to advance to the medal rounds.
