Early Life and Education

Dace Melbārde was born in Latvia. From a young age, she developed a passion for theater and joined a theatrical studio. She went on to study at the Latvian Conservatory, majoring in theater and movie acting, from 1988 to 1992.

Theater and Film Career

Melbārde began her acting career in 1990 as a member of the Daugavpils Theater. She took on various roles on stage and appeared in several films, including "Maija un Paija" (1990), "Child of Man" (1991), and "Emils Dārziņš" (TV film).

Television and Education

Melbārde worked in television and led a theater group at the Daugavpils Music School. From 2004 to 2005, she taught at Daugavpils University and Daugavpils Trade School. In 2008, she obtained a bachelor's degree in law from Daugavpils University.

Political Career

Melbārde is politically active and is a member of the National Alliance "All for Latvia!" - "For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK" party. She has been elected to the 10th, 11th, and 12th Saeima (Latvian Parliament) since 2010. She has held positions such as Chair of the Human Rights and Public Affairs Commission in Parliament and Parliamentary Secretary at the Ministry of Culture of Latvia.

Personal Life

Melbārde resides in Daugavpils. She is married to Harrijs Petrovičs, director of the Daugavpils Theater, and they have a daughter.
