Ismael Jakobs: From Cologne Kid to Senegalese Star

Born in Cologne, Germany, Ismael Jakobs began his football journey with local club Bliesheim in 2003. After nine years, he joined the renowned academy of FC Köln in 2012.

Köln Debut and First Goal

In August 2017, Jakobs made his debut for Köln's reserve team. Two years later, on November 8, 2019, he stepped onto the first-team stage in a Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim. His first Köln goal came in December of that year, against Eintracht Frankfurt.

International Call-up

In September 2022, Jakobs received his first call-up to the Senegalese national team under coach Aliou Cissé. He made his debut in a friendly against Bolivia, coming on as a substitute.

2022 World Cup
