Early Life and Career in Youth Academies

Ivan Kotenko began his football journey at a young age, playing for the youth academies of "Knyazha" and "Obukhov."

Professional Debut and Early Years at Dnipro

In the 2001/02 season, Kotenko made his professional debut for "Borysfen-2" in Ukraine's Second League. He joined "Dnipro-2" the following year, where he made a significant impact, playing in 45 matches and scoring 9 goals.

Entry into the Dnipro First Team

Kotenko earned his debut for Dnipro's first team in June 2005 in a match against "Metalist Kharkiv." He played sparingly as a substitute during the 2005/06 season, making 14 appearances and scoring 1 goal.

Loans and Transfer

By December 2006, Kotenko was deemed surplus to requirements and was made available for transfer. He joined "Kryvbas" on loan in 2007 before spending the 2007/08 season with "Naftovyk-Ukrnafta."

Journeyman Years

After a brief stint with "Lviv," Kotenko found himself playing in the First League with "Oleksandriya" during the 2009/10 season. He then joined "Obolon" in January 2010, where he played in the Premier League.

International Representation

Kotenko represented Ukraine at the youth level for the Under-17 team from 2000 to 2002, making 11 appearances and scoring 2 goals. He also played for Ukraine's student team.
