Patrick Egan was an American boxer who competed in the 1904 Summer Olympics.
Olympic Career
At the 1904 Games in St. Louis, Egan competed in both the lightweight (up to 135 lbs) and welterweight (up to 145 lbs) divisions. He won a silver medal in the lightweight competition and a bronze medal in the welterweight event.
Disqualification
However, it was later discovered that Egan had competed under an assumed name. According to the rules of the organization that organized the Olympic competitions, athletes were required to compete under their own names. As a result of this violation, Egan was stripped of all his medals.
