American Girl with Unruly Hair Syndrome
Meet the little girl with hair like Albert Einstein! Her mother spent two years and hundreds of dollars trying to tame her daughter's unruly hair, only to discover that she had the same genetic condition as the famous physicist. Jaylee Lamb, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, constantly has her frizzy white hair sticking up due to the so-called 'Unruly Hair Syndrome'. Rumor has it that Albert Einstein also had the same syndrome. Jaylee's mother, 29-year-old nursing student Sarah Lamb from Pike County, Arkansas, spent a fortune on 20 different hair products in an attempt to style her daughter's wild hair before the diagnosis was made. "She looks like a dandelion," Sarah said. "My daughter is quirky in herself, so her hair is just a reflection of her character." One day, Sarah read a story about twins with 'Unruly Hair Syndrome' and suspected that her daughter might have the same condition. Jaylee's parents provided DNA samples to the Human Genetics Institute at the University of Bonn in June 2017. The results, received last week, confirmed Sarah's suspicions. Her daughter is a carrier of one of the three genes responsible for the development of the syndrome. Only after the diagnosis did Sarah realize that fighting Jaylee's unruly hair was a waste of time. "It's really strange, but I love her hair," the mother said. "Our other little daughter has straight hair like a board. They are just two opposite extremes." "Jaylee is such a beautiful, happy girl with her crazy hair."
