Early Life and Education

Denton was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the middle child in a family of three and his father was a dentist. After graduating from high school, Denton attended a local college before enrolling at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He earned a degree in advertising with a specialization in television and journalism.

Early Acting Career

Despite his father's involvement in the local theater, Denton did not show any interest in acting until the age of twenty-three. He made his acting debut in a production of "Our Town" for Tennessee's bicentennial celebration. This small role marked the beginning of his career in theater. Denton performed in local theaters in Chicago, North Carolina, and California.
