Early Life and Education
Norwegian Linguist and RussianistTrond Trosterud is a prominent Norwegian linguist and Russianist. He graduated from the University of Oslo in 1978, specializing in Slavic languages.
Academic Career
Research and TeachingAfter working at the University of Tromsø from 1979 to 1984, Trosterud returned to the University of Oslo. In 1988, he defended his doctoral dissertation and became a Professor of Slavic Studies. He held concurrent teaching positions at Tromsø and Bergen universities. He also served as a visiting researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles, Göttingen University, and the Norwegian University Centre in Saint Petersburg.
Administrative Roles
From 2007 to 2010, Trosterud led the Norwegian Union of Slavists.Publications and Research Interests
