Leeves began her career in the entertainment industry as a ballet dancer and later worked as a model. She moved to the United States after starting her acting career on "The Benny Hill Show" and appeared in various small roles.

Early Career
Jane Leeves started her acting career with roles on "The Benny Hill Show" and Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life." Despite these early successes, she strived to establish herself in the industry. She appeared in music videos, such as David Lee Roth's "California Girls," but these did not satisfy her ambitions. Leeves made progress with a role in the sitcom "Throb!" and then landed a significant role as Audrey, a loud and awkward friend of the producer, in "Murphy Brown."

Role in "Frasier"
In 1993, Jane Leeves joined the cast of the television series "Frasier." She played the eccentric and straightforward psychic Daphne Moon, a character that became beloved by viewers. During the 2000/2001 season, Leeves was pregnant, and the show incorporated her pregnancy into the storyline, where Daphne gains weight due to the stress of her relationship. By the end of "Frasier," Leeves was nominated for an Emmy for her role and became the highest-paid British actress in Hollywood.

Other Projects
While primarily known for her television work, Jane Leeves also appeared in films such as the voice-over role of Lulu in "James and the Giant Peach" (1996) and the film "Music of the Heart" (1999). In 2002, she starred in the Broadway musical "Cabaret" and hosted the popular British comedy show "Have I Got News for You" in 2004. Currently, she is appearing in the series "Hot in Cleveland" and is involved in the unreleased sitcom "Misconceptions."
Besides her acting work, Leeves has done voice-over work for "The Penguins of Madagascar" (as Lulu) and "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties." She also co-founded a production company called "Bristol Cities" with her "Frasier" co-star Peri Gilpin. One of her recent projects includes a pilot episode for the American version of the British sitcom "The Vicar of Dibley" with Kirstie Alley in the lead role.
