Biography of Jasmine Britney
IntroductionJasmine Britney, a Finnish model, writer, and designer with quadriplegia, has become the world's first paralyzed Barbie doll twin. Despite being paralyzed from the neck down since a young age, she has spent $14,500 on makeup, clothing, and designer high-heeled shoes. Jasmine only leaves her house in full glamour and hopes to become a shoe designer in the future.

Early Life and Accident
Jasmine Britney, born Jasmine Koskiranta, is currently 26 years old. At a young age, she was paralyzed below the neck after being hit by a car. She recalls that her life changed when she was only nine years old. Despite her disability, Jasmine now shares her photos on social media to inspire other individuals with spinal cord injuries or those living in challenging conditions. She refuses to believe that she will never walk again.

Inspiration from Barbie and Britney Spears
Jasmine spends hours taking care of her hair, applying makeup, and dressing up like Barbie and pop stars such as Britney Spears. Both the doll and the singer are her idols who helped her get through the darkest times. Jasmine now dedicates her life to looking like them.

A Passion for Designer Shoes
Jasmine is obsessed with high-heeled shoes, especially Christian Louboutin's creations. Despite being unable to walk or even stand in shoes, she continues to grow her shoe collection. Jasmine plans to become a shoe designer, as it is her dream.

Living Life as a Quadriplegic
Jasmine embraces glamorous hairstyles and Barbie-inspired makeup to find joy in her life. People do not expect someone with quadriplegia to have such desires, but the reaction she receives from her fans is astounding.

Life-Changing Accident
When Jasmine was just nine years old, she was an active child who loved jumping, running, and playing. On March 7, 1998, she had saved up money to buy Spice Girls lollipops, hoping to collect all the stickers that came with them. While crossing the street near her home in Helsinki, Finland, she was hit by a car. The driver was texting and did not notice her until it was too late. The impact threw her 23 meters, and she remained unconscious for 12 hours.

A New Life as a Quadriplegic
After waking up in the hospital, doctors were relieved to find no brain injury. However, an MRI revealed the devastating truth: Jasmine was paralyzed below the neck, and her spinal cord was severely damaged. She and her parents were informed that none of the existing treatment programs could restore her mobility. Despite being only nine years old, Jasmine understood that her life would never be the same. She would have to learn to live differently and adapt to a new way of life.

The Healing Process
For five months, Jasmine remained in the hospital, where her teacher visited and helped her with lessons at her bedside. She recalls the process of her recovery, how she had to adapt to the loss of sensation in her body and constantly be repositioned in bed to prevent bedsores. She remembers learning to sit and gaining a sense of freedom when she transitioned to a wheelchair.

Communication Challenges and Triumph
Initially, Jasmine needed a breathing tube to help her breathe. After the tube was removed, she could only speak in whispers due to the pain caused by the previous procedures. However, as time went on, she regained her ability to communicate like a normal person. It was a liberating experience for her.

Rediscovering Herself as a Barbie
One day, Jasmine asked her caregiver to experiment with makeup. From that moment, her life as a quadriplegic started to transform. She felt like a real-life Barbie, a princess from a fairytale, and gained newfound confidence. Jasmine decided to share some photos on social media, and the response she received was incredible. People praised her courage and her appearance.

A New Name and Independence
Jasmine is a huge fan of Britney Spears. She loves her music and iconic looks with blonde hair and a strong sexual presence. To show her independence, she decided to change her last name from Koskiranta to Britney. In 2007, she filed the paperwork without her father's approval. Although he was initially upset, he eventually realized that it was essential for Jasmine to express herself.

Sharing Her Journey on YouTube
More recently, Jasmine has opened her own YouTube channel, where she shares her daily experiences, preparation for university, makeup tutorials, and more. She has also released her first inspiring video in English. Although some people may be shocked by a paralyzed woman with a breathing tube appearing glamorous and resembling a Barbie doll, she believes it is their problem, not hers. Jasmine hopes that people will read her story and remember it forever.
