Jasmine Guy is an American actress, singer, and dancer. Born on March 10, 1964, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, she grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where she attended North Atlanta High School. Her father, William Guy, was African American and served as a pastor in a Baptist church, while her mother, Jay Rudolph, was of Portuguese descent.

In her youth, Jasmine was friends with the renowned rapper Tupac Shakur, who was tragically shot and killed in 1996. She maintains a warm and friendly relationship with Tupac's mother to this day.

In 1981, Jasmine moved to New York and enrolled in the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. There, she began to explore the intricacies of acting. In 1987, with the help of her older sister Monica, Jasmine landed a role in the television series "A Different World." She continued to act in the series until 1993.

In 1989, Jasmine made her film debut in "Harlem Nights" alongside Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor. She went on to deliver a remarkable performance in the film "America's Dream" (1995) and provided her voice talent for the animated film "Cats Don't Dance" (1997).

Jasmine released her debut album, self-titled "Jasmine Guy," in 1990. Three songs from the album, "Try Me," "Another Like My Lover," and "Just Want To Hold You," made it into the prestigious Billboard Top 100 chart.

In 1998, Jasmine married Terrence Duckett, and they welcomed their daughter, Imani, on March 28, 1999. Currently, their marriage is going through a rough patch, with persistent rumors of a possible divorce.

From 2000 to 2001, Jasmine showcased her talent in two productions of the musical "Chicago" – the Broadway production in New York and the theater production in Las Vegas. She received thunderous applause from a large audience. In 2003, she appeared in several episodes of the series "Dead Like Me."
