Biography of Jason Segel
Early LifeJason Segel is an American actor, writer, and musician. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Despite being raised in his father's Jewish religion, Segel attended a Catholic school. Growing up, he had a passion for acting and participated in local theater productions during his school years. With his tall stature (6'4"), he also played on his high school basketball team.

Career
Jason Segel is best known for his collaborations with producer Judd Apatow, including films such as "Freaks and Geeks," "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," "I Love You, Man," and "The Five-Year Engagement." He gained further recognition for his role in the CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother." Segel got the role in "How I Met Your Mother" because the producers were longtime fans of "Freaks and Geeks." He also wrote the script for the film "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," and according to Segel, several scenes in the movie were inspired by his personal experiences, including a breakup while being naked.

Work with The Walt Disney Company
The Walt Disney Company invited Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller to write a new Muppets film. Segel has been a fan of the Muppet Show since childhood and was thrilled to have the opportunity to work on creating a movie for them. In the film "The Muppets," Segel's character writes a Muppet musical called "Dracula."

Personal Life
Segel dated his "Freaks and Geeks" co-star Linda Cardellini for several years. He also had a relationship with actress Michelle Williams, but the couple broke up in February 2013.
